Lookup Parameters

edited July 2010 in General
Delphi 6, RB 11.08.

I have set up a report that contains a parameter that uses a Lookup List.
The parameter settings are all correct, and when I run the report for the
first time and press the AutoSearch icon in the Preview, my Autosearch field
appears as a combobox, allowing me to choose from a list of fields that were
in the pipeline's query.

If I then press the Autosearch button again, I am presented with the same
dialog box, my autosearch field correctly appears as a combobox, but only
the item I selected last time is available from the drop-down list.

It appears as if the query is still filtered on the original values, and so
the lookup list only then contains the one value.

Is there a workaround, am I doing something wrong or is this a known issue?

Many thanks,
Jason.

    Hi Jason,

This is not a known issue and in my testing with RB 12, I was unable to
recreate this behavior. You might try downloading a trial edition of RB 12
and test with that. If you would like, you can send me a simple example in
.zip format and I can test it for you. support@digital-metaphors.com

I reviewed the example. You need to create a separate lookup Query.

You are using the same query for the report and the lookup. Therefore when
you apply a search condition to the report query, the lookup list is built
from the same result set, which now contains only one record. :)
