ReportBuilder In Runtime Package Applications

edited August 2010 in General
Hi Nico, fine?
I'd like know if the Report Builder have a incompatibilities when used in
Applications with RunTime Packages.

In my job, we working with a big system that use runtime packages and Delphi
6 ( :( horrible).

Once upgraded to version 11.08 of report builder reports were very slow to
display.
No preview control functions such as zoom and paging.

Previously we used version 7.04 and works normal.

You could tell me if there is any inconsistency with the
form with such development?

Thanks,

Regarts.

    No.

ReportBuilder is native Delphi code, and thus can work with packages or
compiled into the exe. A good example of packages, is the Delphi IDE which
is an application that uses run-time packages for all of it's components.
When using the report designer within the Delphi IDE, the RB run-time
    packages are being used.

There are many things that can cause poor performance. One is a slow network
printer, check whether the default printer for the machine is a network
printer, and if so try setting it to a local printer. (RB uses the printer
driver for measuring text and page positions, even when generating pages for
    preview. )

    Hi Nard, fine?
    Nard, I'm founded the problem.
The problem is a CoolMenus component where have a functions that hook
windows message and fake the report builder methods.
Sorry really uncomfortable. But it took me to find that component mentioned
    was the problem.

    Anyway, the issue was resolved.

    Thank you for your attention.
