XLS Data option in RB 12.03

edited December 2010 in General
Hi,

Just recently updated from 12.02 to 12.03 of Report Builder and have noticed
that it now does not print to XLS Data File at all. Basically it just
creates a blank xls file.

Can you please let me know what has changed?

Many Thanks,

Robert

There is a patch available for RB 12.03 that resolves the default behavior.
I emailed it you. Registered RB 12.03 users can email support@ and request
    the patch.

(By default the detail band elements should be exported, the alternative is
to use the Print To File Setup dialog to specify which components to
    export.)

    Nard,

As a Christmas present to myself, I have finally decided to upgrade
RB, leaving the nice cozy world of 7.0x behind and sending you the
money in the wee hours of this morn.

When the download instructions come for v12, will I be downloading a
patched 12.03 or will I need the patch in a separate email? I am
ditching the third-party add-ins I used for PDF and XLS generation, as
I understand v12 does those things internally now.

Best of the season to you and yours, GM

Got all you sent. Much appreciated. Now, have to wait for my tech guy
to finish building me Quincy, Popeye's replacement. It'll have all the
toys, plus win7. I'm pretty sure that I will be going all vm's for
delphi. Mine are all XP and I'm debating the issue on whether to do a
win7 set. In either case, I will be running D7 and D2010 all by their
little lonesomes in a VM. The trick is to find the time, of course, to
install everything. But if I go that route, especially with D7, I hope
to isolate and eliminate whatever combination of things I have going
that has made the IDE such an unstable thing over the last 18 months.
It'll be nice to get away from using some of the third-party devices.

At any rate, I prattle on. Thanks for getting me the patches.

    Regards, GM
