Creating a Excel looking report

edited May 2011 in General
Hey,

For various reasons I need to create a report that mimics an Excel
spreadsheet. There used to be an addon named GridPack for Report
Builder that looks like it would do the job but the last reference in
this group was 2005 so I suspect that its out of support.

Two related questions -

1) is GridPack still being supported? If so where can I find it?

2) I'm using Reportbuilder 10.09. Has anything been added to RB since
10 that would allow me to create the report?

Thanks

Craig

The drag-and-drop feature of the report designer's Data True tool window can
be used to create a grid style report layout. On the other hand, if you want
to generate a true spreadsheet I would use RB 12's built-in XLS export
feature to generate the report to a .XLS file and automatically open it in
Excel for the end-user to view, edit, or print.

Unfortunately my users dont want a spreadsheet - just the spreadsheet
looking grid. Did a quick search of the features list and developers
manual and couldnt find anything on the Data True tool you mentioned.
Where can I find out somemore info on it? Specifically I need to be
able to create a report page with a grid and fill in certain 'cells'
    with info.

Sorry about the typing mistake, it should read 'Data Tree'. The Data Tree is
described in the 'Elements of the User Interface' section of the Developer's
Guide and the tutorial, 'Creating a Report via the Data Tree'
