Font setting for DBRichText or DBRichView

edited October 2011 in General
Hello,

why are there the options to set some font attributes for DBRichText or
DBRichView, if they don't affect anything as the format information is
within the content itself? Those options lead to confusion among our
customers, which try to set those options within the designer and don't see
any changes...

Is there a way to hide these font settings for DBRichText and DBRichView?
They don't make any sense as far as I see it...

Regards,
Mark

    Hi Mark,

The font of the DBRichText is the default font of the underlying
richtext data. If for instance some plain text is accompanied with the
RTF data, it will use this default font. Also if a plain text field is
set to a DBRichText control it will take on the font attributes defined.

If you would like you can create a custom component that hides these
options. See the checkbox demo located in the \Demos\RCL\... directory
for how this can be done.
