Error on Report Editor for Font

edited February 2012 in General
I have report builder 11.08, enterprise edition for d2010.

On Vista and Windows 7 when i edit a report (saved as a text file on the
hard drive), if I click on a label for example, and want to change the
font, I get an error: EConvertError - Cannot assign a nil to a TStringList

or

ERangeError - Range check error

or both.

On Windows 7 this works ok. It just fails on XP. its almost like there
are no fonts in the font toolbar combo box.

If I turn on the data tree and report tree and change the font that way,
it works ok.

Any idea how I can fix this?

    Hi Jeff,

This is not a known issue. Does this happen for every XP machine that
you try? Are you always connected to the same printer? Are you certain
this machine has proper access to the fonts you are selecting? It seems
that for some reason when selecting a font, the font file itself does
not exist or cannot be accessed.

You might also try downloading a trial copy of RB 14 and see if that helps.

I have tried two different xp machines and they both did the same thing.
However, we were set to the same printer, so I switched mine to a free
program called PDFCreator and then did it again and it loaded fine.

I assume this means somethings wrong with the printer setup (ie
    reinstall it)?

    Hi Jeff,

Yes, this seems to be an issue with the printer driver. Try upgrading
the driver if possible. Switching default printers may also be an option.
