Printer missing in Report Builder

edited February 2013 in General
Hi Guys

We host our Windows application on Win Server 2008 R2 platform. Users
access the product via remote desktop. We use the Windows Printing
System that automatically finds users local printers and makes them
available in the remote session. Usually all is well, however we have a
client now that is saying that on occasions (not always I don't think)
their local printer is not available to them from all areas where our
application uses Report Builder..MS Word can see and use their local
printer(s) fine... Any ideas?

Thanks for your time

Regards

    1. Make sure the Windows user account under which the ReportBuilder app is
    running has full security access rights to the printer.

    2. In your application, prior to calling RB, try adding the following code
    to refresh the printer list. (RB caches an internal list of available
    printers)

    uses
    ppPrintr;

    ppPrinters.Refresh;
