Text search with Continuous Scrolling

edited April 2013 in General
When using the text search function in RB 14.08, the matching text is often
off the visible area of the page in the preview form, especially if the text
is close to the top or bottom of a page. This means that a user cannot see
where the match is located on the page. The problem seems to be more
prevalent if continuous scrolling is switched on but does happen without it.

With continuous scrolling on it also only "highlights" the last occurrence
of the matching text - it does stop at previous occurrences when you are
clicking next but does not "highlight" the matching text. Is there a way to
get the highlight to show for all matching occurrences and also can you
adjust the page offset so that the matching text is always visible on the
page preview ?

    Hi Rick,

I will look at the first issue and get back to you. The text search
should auto-scroll to the area of the page that the found text is
located but perhaps this is not functioning correctly.

ReportBuilder currently does not support continuous scrolling text
search. This is a feature we would like to add for a later release of
the product. Currently, you need to use the navigation controls of the
text search dialog to move through each occurrence. Thanks for the
    feedback.

There is now a patch available for RB 14.08 that solves the
auto-scrolling issue. Send an email to support@digital-metaphors.com to
    receive the patch.
