Improvement Request - dbCheckBox

edited April 2013 in General
Hi

The dbCheckBox has two states True/False; Y/N which correspond to a tick or
cross in the check box.

It would really be useful to have three states of True/False and N/A (not
applicable) where the latter leaves the check box empty. We sometimes have
100's of check boxes on a report and to set the values in code using the
standard CheckBox take considerable time and patience whereas a dbCheckbox
which allows all three would save a lot of time.

    Hi Philip,

Thanks for the feedback. I have added this to our possible enhancements
list and we will consider it for a later release of ReportBuilder.

    Hi Nico

I am getting a lot of grief from my support staff who have to spend a lot of
time creating reports with check boxes (we have 100's of check boxes
    sometimes on a report).

The request below would save considerable time and more to the point
frustration if we could have this 3 state check box sooner rather than
    later.

Is there anything you can do to urge this enhancement?

    Regards

    Hi Philip,

As I mentioned, your feature request has been added to our possible
features list. That is all the information I am able to give about it
    at this time.

The current implementation of the checkbox is actually part of a demo
showing how to create custom components on your own. Using the concepts
in the demo (\Demos\6. RCL\) you could create your own similar checkbox
with the required features. The articles below are also helpful for
    creating custom components.
