Installation problems with RB/Firedac

edited July 2013 in General
Win 7 64
Delphi XE3
RB 15 build 2

Experimenting with Firedac.

Created a test program using Firedac sql component. Connected data
source to grid and navigator bar. No problems.
Linked to RB pipeline and created Report.
AV after a couple of pages.

Reviewed Newsgroups and see message regarding Build 2 so I downloaded
and installed the latest build.

I had problems so I started the process again after uninstalling both
Firedac and RB.

Downloaded latest builds of both component sets.
Installed Firedac. No probs all components available.

Reinstalled RB ... message that it cant find the RB bpl for Firedac

Restarted Deplhi and Firedac components no longer available

I have done this 3 times.... same result

Hmmmm where to next ?

    Hi Mike,

There is nothing in the RB installation that will remove the FireDAC
package from Delphi. My suggestion would be to uninstall FireDAC and
ReportBuilder from your machine and perform a corrupt install clean up
for ReportBuilder. Then re-install FireDAC and ReportBuilder.

This however only installs DADE support for FireDAC. If you are simply
connecting pipelines to a report, FireDAC should function correctly even
without the bpl installed. If you are having issues with this, please
send a simple example to support@digital-metaphors.com and we will take
    a look at it.

In your sample did you disconnect the dataset from the DBGrid before
    calling Report.Print?

    Thanks Nico.
I completely uninstalled both RB and Firedac.
    Re installed Firedac. Compoments available.
    Installed RB
Error messages re Firedac then RB re Firedac
    Went to "Install Packages"
Firedac was unchecked ... checked and components now visible

Reportbuilder Data Access for Firedac unchecked
    c"\program files (x86)\rad studio\10.0\RBuilder\Lib\Win32\dclFireDac1517.bpl

If I check this package I get two errors ...."Entry point not found"
    and "Cannot Load package"

    Hi Mike,

Which version of FireDAC do you have installed on your machine? The
RB/FireDAC packages were built with the latest version available at the
    time of the release (8.05).

If you do not have this version or are unable to update to it, you will
need to manually build and install the RB/FireDAC packages located in
    the \RBuilder\Source\... directory.

My version of Firedac is 7.05 which the Embarcadero Registed users site
    pointed to.
I will get in touch with Emb... to get latest build and report back.
    Makes sense at last.

    Thanks

For future follow up, I have notified Embarcadero via Newsgroup that the
latest version (8.05) has not been uploaded.
