Here is a stupid upgrade quesrtion

edited November 2014 in General
I am thinking about upgrading Delphi 5 to XE6 tomorrow. While I have not
done my homework, XE6 says it will compile for Windows, OS X, iOS, Android,
gadgets, and wearable's. Will ReportBuilder's components work with these
operating systems if compiled with XE6 (of course I mean the latest version
of ReportBuilder). As I am still running Delphi 5, you can see I am a little
skittish on upgrading anything.

Thanks.

    Hi Robert,

The short answer is no :).

Cross platform development with Delphi is done using the new Firemonkey
(FMX) platform which is not compatible with existing VCL applications.
For more information about FMX, I suggest starting with the on-line
documentation and wiki articles provided by Embarcadero.

    http://docwiki.embarcadero.com/RADStudio/XE6/en/FireMonkey_Application_Platform

Starting with RB 16, we now provide a way to explore and view reports
using FMX components via a REST service. This gives you the ability to
create and generate your reports with a Windows REST server application
and navigate and display them in a cross-platform application (IOS,
Android, etc.). This feature is only available for Delphi XE7 and
    ReportBuilder Enterprise.
