email a report - dm0110 example
Hi Guys,
Running windows 10, Delphi 10 seattle and the latest RB
Trying the email report demo, dm0110.
Working to local client, outlook, is fine.
Trying to work direct via Indy doesn't seem to send.
Running the example and selecting Built-in Email Client, yes I have
enabled Indy in the source, I can Login and test the connection OK.
Complete the To: info, add a subject, little fuzzy about which way to
include the report (FileName or Attach), then hit the Send button, I
get a SQL cursor for a little while then nothing.
The PDF is created OK as I can see it in the directory (I unchecked
Delete File).
I get receive no email....:-(
Thoughts/suggestions appreciated.
Regards,
Ian

Had to specify a 'From'. It would be better if it appeard in the email
screen automatically and didn't need to be selected from the menu.
Still unsure of the applicability/relationship of 'Report' & 'Attach'
in the email.

The "From" field is only a requirement for specific servers. When
direct connecting to Indy, it is best to show all errors returned by the
server to track down any issues.

The Report field defines the exported report. Attach gives the user an
option to attach additional files if needed.
