Data Dictionary problems with DOA

edited March 2003 in End User
I`ve got a reproducable problem with the Data Dictionary using the RB7
end-user DOA application ....

1) I updated the application to use Data Dictionary tables from a SQL script
provided as part of the RB installation.

2) I then ran the application and in the report explorer designed a new
report.
3) In the query wizard on the data tab, the Available Tables just listed my
sites table (called NIM_DAT_SITES, correctly aliased as 'Sites'), which is
what I expected.

4) I then carried on to create my report using the Site Table

5) I saved the report and previewd it - all OK.

6) I then closed down the EndUser application.

7) I then started up the EndUser application and previwed my report from the
report explorer. The report displayed as expected.

8) I closed the preview window and then created a new report.

9) In the query wizard on the data tab, the Available Tables listed ALL
physical tables names instead of just displaying the nim_dat_sites alias
name 'sites' in the data dictionary, this is incorrect.

I only get this error if I preview a report, before using the data
dictionary for the first time after loading the application, otherwise the
data dictionary work fine.

Can this be reproduced by anyone else, and is there a fix/workaround?

Thanks, Mike

We have used DOA and Oracle 9 without this problem. Is this problem
reproducable everytime? Can you reproduce the problem using our Autojoin
demo using Paradox and DBDemos data? At runtime, can you verify that the
data settings are configured to use the data dictionary in the designer? Set
Designer.AllowDataSettingsChange to true and check the data settings at
runtime before you run the query wizard the second time.
