Localisation missing

edited April 2003 in End User
There are some items missing from the german localisation. Using the text
search function, there still are some english phrases. Any update available?

We haven't received a translation from the official German translator. So
far we have received Danish, Dutch, Italian and Spanish (Spain)
translations for RB 7.02 which will be included in the next release.

There is a translation app utiltiy if you want to build your own version of
the translations until the next release, after we receive the German
translation. There is an app you can download and run that you can build the
resource files with the custom translations in them. Follow the Languages
readme doc in the translations folder of our installation. Here is the app
you can download which you can use. There is a bug in the interface where
the images aren't quite right and the English text is not displayed at the
top correctly. At this time, you'll have to use the English text that is
listed on the left, or from the Access database, in order to determine the
    string to be translated.

I think Christian Niedergesaess is too working on this and too says he is
ready by the end of the week. Just for your information.

Thankyou all for the interest in translating ReportBuilder for the German
language! I am hoping to hear back from the official German translator, but
have not had a response. In the event that he does not provide a
translation, then we would need to assign a new official German translator.
In the meantime, feel free to build custom RB German translations for your
own applications and also send the resource files to
supprt@digital-metaphors.com if you are interested in becoming the official
translator for the German language if it becomes available. I'll post back
here at a later date as the translator status is updated.

    Hi Chris and Bernd,

I think we should exchange our translations at Friday or Monday and discuss it. Let's find the most common set of translations that we then pass to DM.
DM says it would be nice to have one official translator. The best would be having a group of translators, coordinated by the official translator.

    Your opinions please ...

    Cheers,
    Chris Ueberall;

    Hello there,

as two already worked on a translatikon, we stopped doing so. As Chris
wrote, a group of translators with one being the clearinghouse and
coordinator would be appreciated. Loaclisations are a must and they have to
be available at initial product release.

I received a message from our official German translator. The email address
we had for him was not his primary one and just recently checked it. I'll
post here when a new translation becomes available.
