IB Express error

edited February 2007 in Datapipelines
I have a little problem with my IB Express connection in RB 10.02 for BDS
2006.
When i try to save a report to the database i?ve selected, the follow
error message is showed :
EDataBaseError with message: "field 'NAME' most have a value"

What can i do to solve my problem? I can?t found a solution because I?m
already a beginner developer in Report Builder.

Can anyone help me?

Thank you,

John

    Hi John,

When saving a report template to database directly from your application,
you need to be sure you set up the Report.Template.DatabaseSettings
properties correctly. This includes creating and assigning a name field and
a template field in your database.

It is also possible to easily save reports to a database using the end-user
solution with the ReportExplorer. Take a look at the end-user demo for IB
Express located in the \RBuilder\Demos\4. EndUser Databases\InterBase\3. IB
    Express\... directory.

    Hi Mr. Nico,

I?m using the Example unit that?s in the "\RBuilder\Demos\4. EndUser
Databases\InterBase\3. IB Express\..." directory. I saw the "Template"
property of the ppReport, but i don?t know how i can use it. There?s a
subproperty named "Pipeline" that isn?t linked to any datapipeline. Did I
    have to set this property?

    Thanks a lot.

    Hi John,

Thanks for the clarification. I believe we fixed some issues with the
IBExpress demo for 10.01 but somehow they were not added to 10.02. Please
upgrade your version to 10.05 and see if that helps the problem. For
upgrade instructions, contact info@digital-metaphors.com with your serial
    number and purchasing emailing address.
