Maintaining Calc Object Focus

edited July 2004 in End User
Is there any way to maintain the focus of the selected report object item
under the Calc tab of the end user report designer if the end user switches
between tabs of the report designer? It's a real pain to be working on a
complex formula and have to locate the event manually after each test preview.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

The focus is maintained when switching between Data, Calc, Design. However,
the focus is lost when returning from a Preview - the report is restored to
its original state by loading it from an internally saved stream. (This is
necessary because the RAP code can modify the report structure.)

Evidently, the Calc tab is clearing out its state information when the
restore is performed. We can research improving this for the next release...

    Nard,

Please do. This is one of the more common issues that we have been getting
    since implementing RB.
