Mail Component Help Please
Guys
Just upgraded to 10.03 from 7.04.
Really want to use the Email features.
1. How do I set things like MAPI profile to use etc.
I have it running right now but it always prompts me for my profile.
2. Also if I run a report and have Autosearch turned on when I click the
Email Button on Preview form it runs the search criteria again before
generating the PDF attachment. Can I turn this off so it generates using the
report on screen ?
3. Can I call the create email bits from the explorer rather than from the
preview pane ? If so how do I add the email button to the explorer toolbar ?
I have a custome expolrer so if you can direct me to what I need to call
from the button that would be great.
Many thanks in advance. 10.03 looks great thus far
Cheers

Thanks for upgrading, however the latest release of ReportBuilder is 10.04.
I strongly recommend updating your copy of ReportBuilder to RB 10.04. This
is a free upgrade for RB 10.x users. Contact info@digital-metaphors.com
with your serial number and purchasing email address for upgrade
instructions.
1. The MAPI plugin will use the default profile when trying to access your
email client. If no profile is selected, your email client will ask for
one. This is something that is currently not controllable from
ReportBuilder at this time. Thanks for the suggestion, I will possibly
research this for a later release of ReportBuilder.
2. Once you upgrade to RB 10.04, send a small email requesting a patch that
solves this problem to support@digital-metaphors.com and we'll send it to
you as soon as possible.
3. Take a look at the TppEmail topic in the help and the
TppProducer.SendMail routine located in the ppProd.pas file. This is how
the TppEmail object is used. All you need to do is create a TppEmail
object, add a report (or reports) to its report list, and finally call
Send().

We use ReportBuilder here through our developer partner UCT and so I will
need to talk to them re the upgrade. Am I OK using 10.03 or are there some
problems with it ?
I created something similar to what the email thing does with your product
and EasyMAPI and attach to an appropriate profile. The reason why i need
this is I deliver the app through a Citrix solution. I want to drive all
mail through one MAPI profile (one mailbox) as I have hundreds of users but
need to deliver the mail from a central Exchange Server. I then muck around
with the headers (again EASYMapi stuff) so that the reply address changes to
the logged on user. If we could do this kind of thing in RB it would be
great.
I will find out about the upgrade and get that patch asap.
Will have a look at the Explorer bits later.
Thanks for the quick response.

I'm a bit unclear about why you are unable to upgrade directly. Are you a
licenced user of Delphi and ReportBuilder? Note that the ReportBuilder
licence is a per-developer licence. If you purchased the licence from your
partner company or the licence was purchased for you by them, it would be
much easier if they sent you the licence information so you could contact us
directly and receive the latest versions and patches when we release them.
