I've built a custom DB stretchable component and it sizes and moves as
expected. What I can't fathom is that when another component (eg: region)
has its shiftrelativeto set to this custom component (custom component has
Strech property = true), the second component never gets printed on the
first record, but is correctly positioned and printed on every subsequent
record. This also happens if I put two of my custom components in the detail
band and make one shiftrelative to the other.
Is there some special processing needed for the first record in the
pipeline?

When I set the ShiftRelativeToParent property of the second component, it
gets printed correctly for each record.

Any ideas?

Is the inherited property ShiftRelativeTo published in your descendent? See
ppMemo.pas for an example of a descendent stretchable component.
