Export to Excel (from Print Preview) duplicates data

edited August 2005 in Devices

Hi,

We are having a problem with exporting files to Excel. We use TExtraDevices
to export reports from ReportBuilder into an exported .XLS file. If we
choose to PRINT PREVIEW the report on screen before sending it off to the
Excel File...then we experience several reports (exported files) with
duplicate chunks of data in them.

It almost appears as if ReportBuilder is holding these records in memory (or
something like that) and dumping them out again at an inappropriate place in
the report. These extra chunks of records are not part of the queried
records --- they seem to be caused somehow by ReportBuilder/TExtraDevices.

Have you seen this before? Any suggestions on how NOT TO have these extra
records appear in an Excel file when PREVIEWing the file first? Note: Our
exported Excel file is fine if we do not preview the report on screen before
export.

Thanks.

Denise

I have seen this before. It is usually caused by a band that has it's visible property turned
off at run-time. A work-around is to set the individual objects visible property on the band instead of the
    entire band.
