Do I need to upgrade ReportBuilder?

edited November 2006 in Devices
Hello all. Yesterday I downloaded an upgrade to TExtraDevices. I am
running D6 with RB6.01. The installation can't complete because the
component is looking for a file named "rbRCL106.bpl". I searched my
computer and no such file exists on it. Is this file from RB version 10?
Will I have to upgrade to RB 10 to install the new TExtraDevices? Will RB
10 be backward compatible to D6?

I did send a question about this to support@waler.com and have not heard
back yet.

Thanks in Advance!

    Hi Debbie,

Yes, the "106" at the end of the file name implies that the version of
TExtraDevices was compiled with ReportBuilder 10.x for Delphi 6. I am
unsure if Waler provides their latest version of TExtraDevices for older
versions of ReportBuilder. The version you have currently will most likely
only run correctly with ReportBuilder 10.x.

RB 10 is backward compatible with RB 6. There is a version of ReportBuilder
10 that works with Delphi 6.
