PCL5 to PCL6 driver --> slower printing
Hello,
When my report will be printed on a HP2055 printer with a PCL-6 driver the
size of the printjob is 2.83 MB and printing takes approximately 1.5
minutes. When this report will be printed on a HP2015 printer with a PCL-5
driver the size of this printjob is 105 kB and printing takes a few seconds.
The same reporttemplate is used in both situations.
Using the HP2055 printer with a PCL-5 driver (the driver for a different
printertype) reduces the size of the printjob and the time to print.
Is this a known issue? And how can I reduce the size of the printjob and the
time to print to values which are comparable with the printers with a PCL-5
driver?

In the past we have had a few customers with the same issue of slow printing
with HP PCL drivers. The most recent case was solved by upgrading to the
latest version of ReportBuilder (11.08). I suggest you first try
downloading a trial copy of RB 11.08 and see if the printing speed improves.
