Report Builder and Grid Pack

edited May 2010 in Devices
Hi

Is there a version of Grid Pack from www.planitechnologies.com for Delphi
2010?

I have installed this into D2010 and the grids appear on the Report Builder
designer and the design function seems to work, however when I run the
report I get access violations or the text appears in various
cells.

Are the authors still supporting this product ?

Is there a suitable alternative?

Regards to all

I sent you an email that contains an update.

Quite some time ago, we purchased all rights to the Grid Pack from the
author, who was shutting everything down.

    Thanks for this.

On a brief test this seems to work exactly as expected in Delphi 2007.

Do you have a Delphi 2010 installation routine? It is this version I was
    having problems with.

    Thanks in advance

I am a Grid Pack owner too... but have not move to 2010... but will soon
make the leap and also to RB12....

But my question is... are you going to incorporate Grid Pack right into RB?
Can you, did the purchase give you those rights?

Actually some features I would like to see in RB, are more UI related....
being able to right click on a dbText box in the Detail Band... and in the
popup menu be able to ask for a dbCalc of the field I am using be put in the
Summary or Group Footer bands.... It would make doing column totaling quick
    and easy....

We are the exclusive owner of all rights related to the RB GridPack. Thus
far we have updated the components for Unicode VCL, fixed a few bugs, and
created an RB GridPack Builder utility that can build and install the
packages (much like our RB TeeChart Package Builder utlity). We acquired the
components primarily because the author wanted nothing more to do with them.

No final decision has been made as to whether the RB Gridpack will be
integrated into RB. However, after reviewing the source code, it would
require a complete and total rewrite. The code takes many shortcuts, does
not adhere to VCL and RCL standards, is incomplete, and I could go on and
    on.
