Color printing problems HP model CP1215

edited June 2010 in Devices
We have several reports printing from programs developed under Delphi 7
with Report Builder 7. Those reports worked perfectly when using a Dell
1320 Color Laser printer, however our client recently replaced that
printer with an HP model CP1215.

The CP1215 prints our reports in gray scale, but prints the test page in
full color (so we know the cartridges are installed correctly, etc.). I
have been through the print driver's properties settings a dozen or more
times and have tried printing with various combinations of the color
settings, but without success.

Based on other entries in this newsgroup, I downloaded and installed a
different version of the print driver than the one that came on the CD
(or at least I think it was different, it's hard to tell). That didn't
work either.

Are there some report settings I can change? Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Don

    Hi Don,

Unfortunately there are no properties within ReportBuilder that control the
color output. My first suggestion would be to make sure you are using the
latest version of RB 7 (7.04). Contact info@digital-metaphors.com for
upgrade instructions. If updating to RB 7.04 does not help the problem, you
might try downloading a trial copy of the latest version from our website
    and testing with that.

I recommend downloading RB 12 and perform the same test. Using RB 12, the
default settings you have configured in the Windows Printer panel will be
honored. So if you have the default setup for color, it will print color.
You can also use the RB 12 PrinterSetup.DeviceSettings property to control
any/all proprietary features of the printer - this was added for RB 11 and
    is very powerful.

We actually have RB 11 and are currently developing with it, but the
client does not have the corresponding updates which are still in beta.

Guess we'll have to 'bite the bullet' and push the betas out the door.
