Access Violations with Advantage SQL
The following is not now a problem but I have recorded it here in case the
resolution may be of use to anyone else with the access violations....
When using the End User Reporting Tool I keep getting access violations when
accessing Advantage data with the Advantage data dictionary in use, clear
the access violation down and the report apeared as expected.
When using the same code on Advantage without their Data Dictionary no
exceptions occured.
I noticed that when I had put in the AdsConnection Password/username some
thing was causing the AdsConnection to fire off another password/logon
dialog (which was behind other forms).
I moved the ADsConnection code from the form create and put it into the on
timer event before the report explorer.execute command and all is now well.
As I said above this is not a problem now for me but something does not
appear to be correct somewhere.
Environment = Advantage SQL 7.1 using Advantage Data Dictionary; Report
Builder 7.04; Delphi 6
