RAP parameter and edit values in Search dialog

Hi!

I need to make some edit controls in search form disabled for editing (it
must remain fixed values). As far as I can see there are two options:
1) make custom search dialog
2) with Report.parameters pass some values regarding user input (in that
edit controls which are from "normal" search dialog)
Is that all what can be done or there is some other method to make that
work.

Forgot to mention that I need a solution that should be tomorrow most
compatible with RBServer 7.x or later!
