Is Report Builder Server My Solution
Hi,
I've spent several hundred manhours writing reports using Report Builder
Professional and now my clients want me to publish these reports to a web
site. All of my reports run SQL queries against a Paradox database, all of
them requiring parameters. I've looked at your trial version of RBServer
and it looks promising. I haven't figured out how to pass parameters to my
reports, but I'm sure I will eventually. Is my assumption correct in that I
could create a web site with forms that prompt for parameters needed by my
reports, somehow pass this data to my webTier and execute the report?
Thank you.

This will be possible in the next build--read some of the prior posts on
this.
www.annuitypeople.com/cgi-bin/report.dll
(DM has a link avaiable for their demos, which run nice--better color (which
is my server problem))
Look at REport Forms/Stocks/Historic Prices. This uses the AutoSearchField
values of RB. This is the exact same report for the client as it is in the
thin web tier.
Enjoy.

Yes, currently you can use RB's AutoSearch parameters to pass parameter
values to a report. See RBuilder\Demos\AutoSearch and see our live demo
server

The next release will add custom parameter support for session level and
report level parameters.
