Second rb service running on the same box...
Hello all,
I have been asked to set up a second instance of the same report server on
the same box. The second report server will be pointing to a second
database. I tried to register a second instance of the RBServices.exe but
wasn't able to since the service name is contained internally. How can I
get around this without writing my own service?
Thanks,

I would just register a second datamodule which is uses the second database,
then you can use both from the same server. Thats what I do.

I guess I didn't explain myself completely. I need to run the 'dev report
server' and the 'stage report server' on the same machine. I cannot add a
second datamodule to the same server since I want to keep stage and dev
seperate. What I need is a way to register a second rbservices.exe. This
way I will be able to run both servers on the same box as separate services.
Thanks,
Mike
With the current implementation you can only have one RBWinService installed
and running. You could, however, run additional servers as standard Windows
.exe's as long as each uses a different port number.
