External Exception 46?

I have a strange error. My customer get the error:

cannot generate report
External exception 46

When they install a new computer (BDE 5.01), and run my program (which is no
problem with the old workstation). They encountered the above msg for 1 or 2
particular reports, no error with other reports.

What I use is win98, Delphi 3.02, RB 4.23 pro, BDE5.01. The computer is 6GB
hd, PIII700. Any hints to me? Will it caused by BDE ?

Check to make sure the latest printer driver is installed on the new
machine.

The new computers already install HP6P laser printer driver as usual. Will
it be caused by system software (driver/windows) problem or applicatoin
software (BDE/Delphi3/RB) problem? So I can narrow my problem to a
particular area.

Install a HP LaserJet 4 driver. Usually this driver works quite well. When
you preview to the screen, the printer driver is used to generate the
report, so we can test if the problem with these couple of report is caused
by the driver. If the report generates then the problem lies with the
installed HP6P driver. If the problem persists, then look at the report.
What is different about this report than the other reports?

Install the HP Laserjet 4 printer driver cannot fix the problem mentioned
(some reports show External Exception 46 or hang the computer). This problem
seems not come from printer driver. But I have no clue where it is come
from.

Thanks a lot. I may look into the BDE or other configuration.
