TppRichText problem

Hi & thanks for any help.
I have a report to which I added a TppRichText field. If I type anything
into the rich text field, and then try to run the program I get an
application error "An Error occurred while attempting to initialize the
Borland Database Engine (error $2501)" and the app shuts down. Clearing
out the TppRichtext alleviates the problem. However, this doesn't do me any
good

Has anyone seen this before? Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong?

I am using D5 Enterprise w/ SP1, Report Builder Pro v5.54 on NT 4.

The TppRichtext relies on Delphi's TRichEdit and windows RichEd.dll. Is
this reproducable every time? You could try to upgrade from 5.54 to 6.01 as
the first option.

If you create a new empty report, use the BDE to get data, and place a
TppRichText and edit it, does the problem persist? I would try to minimize
the components you are using so that the problem is reproducable in the
least amount of steps as possible. If it reproducable in 6.01 on NT4, send
a simple running demo project to support@digital-metaphors.com
