5.56 and/or 6.01 on a Data Module

edited August 2001 in General
Hello

I recall that some while ago a problem was identified if the RB components
were placed ont a Data Module (rather than a form).

At the time, the cause was unknown to Digital Metaphores.

Have you identified and/or resolve the issue?

Am I therefore safe (or not) to place onto a Data Module. If not, are there
any other non-visual units that I can use to contain the RB components?

Thanks

I believe the problem is that way the Datamodule keeps track of the objects
in it. So when you have a large report there is more overhead having it
    inside a datamodule.

Please update to Delphi 6. We have never solved this for D5, but with D6
    it works fine.

You can use the ReportDesigner at Delphi design-time for a Report on a
TDataModule if you are using Delphi 6....

    Nard,
Is there a performace degradation if using datamodules? Or is it
exactly the same as using a form?
