Image of First Page of Report

edited November 2001 in General
Is there a way to get an image (gif, jpeg, etc) programmatically of the
first page of a report.

We have several hundred reports in our system and when a user performs a
search for a particular report and receives several that match their search
criteria we want to be able to show an image (or thumbnail) of those reports
to them.

They almost always know a particular report by sight but do not often
remember the name of the report or the folder it was saved in.

Thanks.

    Hi David,

very nice idea, but I doubt that a thumbnail based on pixels could be
    useful.
It is possible to create a bitmap file with TExtraDevices or just do a print
    screen.
But scaling the picture down to 25 percent doesn't result in recognizable
    one IMO.
Looks like you need a thumbnail device, perhaps Mr. Waler is interested in
implementing this feature into his plug-in, you may ask him.

    regards,
