RB6.03 + TExtraDevices

edited November 2001 in General
I have the TExtraDevices for 6.02 but when I try to run with RB 6.03 I get
message

[Fatal Error] Report.dpr(10): Unit TXtraDev was compiled with a different
version of ppFilDev.TppFileDevice

I recall there were instructions in the tech-tips newsgroup on how to
recompile RB with an older version of TExtraDevices but I can not locate the
document.

Advice greatly appreciated.

Just open the .dpk in the source directory and compile.
Depending upon your setup, you may then have to copy the
    *.dcu to the lib folder.

Thanks for prompt reply - one minor problem, I have 16 files with the
extension .dpk in my source directory.

Could you give me a clue as to which I need to re-compile.

I tried re-compiling dclRBE66 but this failed in the
\delphi6\source\toolsAPI\DesignEditors.pas as it could not find a file
"proxies.dcu" - I do not have such a file on my machine.

    Thanks in advance

    XtraDev.dpk in (typically) ...\Delphi?\ExtrDev\Delphi?\Source

I think you are in the wrong source folder.

My Copy of Outlook Express has developed a blind spot. I am sure you are
correct as I have seen (and used) this article before but OE is not showing
    this article !!!!!!!!!!

There are only 7 articles in the sub list of Formats and Devices -
Recompiling TExtraDevices is not there for some reason

I have deleted the whole newsgroup and re-instated it and the message is now
    visible.

    Thanks

I had the same problem. I think Outlook Express deleted headers I had
downloaded. I've upgraded IE/OE several times, so I don't know whether the
problem is in this version (6.00.2600) or only in older versions. I solved
it by right-clicking on the newsgroup, clicking on Properties, Local File,
Reset. Then the next time I got to the newsgroup it downloaded all the
    headers from the server.
