General Question

Hello,

I already have ReportBuilder Ent. 7.04 on Delphi-7.
Can I install ReportBuilder Server on the same machine & Delphi-7 without
uninstalling the version 7.04?

We have a large number of applications which use ReportBuilder 7.04, which
we still need to support.
At the same time as creating a server version with ReportBuilder Server?

The installation program prompted to delete the older version.

The RB Server Edition installation program will install RB Server and RB
Enterprise. Therefore, run the installation and let it delete you current RB
Ent installation and install it again.

Hi Nard

If I'm installing the trial version of the RB Server, it will over-write my
(non-trial version 7.04).
Can I then re-install the version (7.04 Ent) ? so that I end up with the
latest (trial) version
of the RB Server and 7.04 Ent (which I need to be able to support my team)?

or does RB Server needs the latest Ent. version?

We have also modified some of the 7.04 source code to suit our needs, so I
cannot really dump it,
at leat not until the server version is up & running and tested.
Even then I will need an over-lap time to update all the existing sites.


I don't know if this makes sense ?

Sorry, I did not realize you were installing the trial. The RB Server Trial
version will only work with the RB Enterprise Trial version that it
installs. So you need to test using another machine, if possible.

The RB Server and RB Enterprise versions that are installed need to be
exactly the same build. RB Server extends RB Enterprise and thus the classes
must be exact.

You cannot modify any the Interface section of any units that are used by RB
Server. You can only modify the Implementation section.
