Endless generated crosstabs

edited August 2002 in General
Hi all,

I have a strange problem with crosstabs:
It seems that there is printed one complete crosstab for every dataset in my
pipeline. Means, if my SQL statement returns let's say 100 lines of data,
then on the preview page 100 crosstabs having exactly the same content are
shown one after the other.
Has anyone experienced this yet?

This is because you have the report and the crosstab connected to the same
pipeline. If the crosstab is all you have in the report then simply
disconnect the pipeline form the report. Otherwise place the crosstab in the
the header/footer rather then the detail so that it prints only once rather
than once for every record in the pipeline.

But how do I do that?

If I select the crosstab and set the pipeline to then of course
nothing is printed. But if I deselect the crosstab so that I have no element
selected and then set the pipeline to it sets the pipeline for my
crosstab to . Besides my crosstab there are only data "unaware"
elements like labels and shapes in my report.

I know it would work if I set the crosstab into the header but there should
be a way to achieve it the other way.

Disconnect the pipeline from the report, not from the crosstab. Select
Report | Data and select None.
