Speed printing on a deskjet printer

edited August 2002 in General
I got an application where the report print very fast on some jet printers
and lot slower on other printers. Specifically if I use a lexmar printer on
draf mode it print very fast I tried to do that with the new HP5550 where on
the property of the driver I choose draft fast mode, it still print slow. If
I print a word procesor document on the HP printer it print very fast so I
belive I am printing with a non standart font. I usually stay with my
default font.
Recomendations?
Thanks

Carlos

Are you using the latest printer driver available for the HP5550? Surf
www.hp.com I saw a Win2K driver dated 6-1-02. How is the speed compared to
a normal node, instead of draft mode for this report on the HP5550? Are you
using a font that isn't installed on the printer? Not all drivers support
the WinAPI calls that can be made to the printer very well. How do our
installed demo reports print on the HP5550 in comparison to other printers?

My client have the printer. I don't have it and I tried to install the
drivers but the installation rutines require that the printer is conected.
I will try to bring that printer to my office to try it. This is a new model
so I belive they got a recent driver.
