RB Ent v6.03 > RB Ent v7.00

edited September 2002 in General
Hello

Currently I'm using D5 Pro, RB Ent v6.03 with Oracle through DOA. I've just
upgraded to RB Ent v7.00. I'm planning to upgrade to D7 by the end of the
year.
Right now I've several installations (client-sites) with RB Ent v6.03.
Upgrading to RB Ent v7.00 would possibly cause me any problems regarding the
hundreds RB Ent v6.03 reports installed on my clients ? Should I upgrade to
RB Ent v7.00 when already working with D7 by the end of the year where I
wouldn't have any choise?

Thanks in advance for your reply

Are you planning on redistributing your app compiled with D7 and RB 7? If
your customers don't want to upgrade, then you will want to have keep D5
with RB 6.03 installed in order to load your customer's 6.03 reports, if
they have any issues or want new templates without reinstalling an exe built
with RB 7. When you build and deploy with RB 7, you should not have any
conversion issues coming from 6.03. You should still back up the customer's
reports first before upgrading their reports to the 7.0 format with a new
exe, just to have the option of going back to 6.03 if you wanted to.
