Question/Problem "Canvas Does Not Allow Drawing"

edited January 2003 in General
I've been using reportbuilder for a couple of years and have been very happy
with the product... I've recently run into a problem. I'm using
reportbuilder pro version 6.02. On one of my client's systems (a laptop) my
reporting modules using reportbuilder have stopped working. My program has
been written to provide the user with a preview of the report before
printing... however, on this one computer, the clients are now getting an
error - "Canvas Does Not Allow Drawing".... The program used to run on the
laptop and everything else seems to be working on the computer - except the
preview on my reports. Obviously, something has changed on their laptop -
but what? Any help is appreciated.

    Hi Joe,

I would check the systems printer settings. Is a standard printer assigned?

What most likely changed in the installed default printer onthe laptop, or
lack thereof. Try installing the HP LaserJet 4 driver as the default and
    retest.

The 'canvas does not allow drawing' bug was fixed after RB 6.02 was rleased
and the fix is included in the latest RB 7.01 as well. If you want to
problem to go away and not have to worry about running into this error in
your future releases, then upgrade to RB 7.01. You can order from our
