Error on Version 6.02

edited March 2003 in General
Occassionally I get a message 'Screen Printer does not support printing'
while printing to the printer on a Windows 2000 workstation. Once the error
occurs, it will not stop until the application is restarted. The error
message appears to come from the ppPrintr unit.

There are two reports that print back to back in a loop of several thousand
at a time. Only 1 of the reports is affected by this problem. The affected
report is an extremely simple report with one grouping. Between each print,
I change the printer name and bin and set the device type explicitly to
printer.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

    Mark,

You need to go into the Report.PrinterSetup property and make sure the
PrinterName is set to 'default', not 'screen'. We added this message in
ReportBuilder to warn users of this because when the printer name is set to
screen, no actual printing will occur. This feature was added solely so
reports could be viewed without a printer installed on a computer. You may
need to check your existing templates for the same issue.
