RB 6.x and USB port (problem)

Hi;

I've got an application using RB 6.x that works fine with all the
printers that are connected to parallel port. However, we just got a new
HP USB printer that when I try to print from my app, it hangs up.

At first, the printer dialog shows up, but when I click OK, it shows
"Printing page 1" but it hangs. I tried printing from MS word and Excel
and they all print fine. Is there a special setting I need to do with RB
or is there a problem with RB and USB port?

Ben,

Though it is a new printer, try updating the driver from the manufacturer's
web site. Then try downloading the trial version of ReportBuilder 7.02 and
see if the error still occurs.

I do have the 7.x, but I'm in the middle of releasing a new version, and
I don't want to bring 7.x into the picture at this point.

However, do you know of a "Known" problem in 6.x and USB printers?

I tested the printer with another print program and Delphi and works
fine. So it's not the printer. It's RB 6.x. Now I hope this problem
doesn't exist in RB 7.x. Have you guys tested RB 7.x with USB printers?

We've had no known issues with RB 7 printing to USB printers to date.
