Report Truncating - Officejet

edited March 2003 in General
Hi,

Posted this question previously but didn't get a satifactory response(or I
didn't understand the one I got!).
Have a fairly wide report which prints in landscape. Prints OK on laser
printers
but a client reported about 3 columns on right of report is being cut off.
They are using HP Officejet 635.
I managed to get hold of a Deskjet 610C and it truncates 3 columns to the
left.

Have done some experiments with the Deskjet using ColumnPositions and
Columnwidth but nothing seems to make any difference.

Could you please respond. This is very annoying and I can't even suggest a
workaround to the client.

Regards

    Tony,

Did you check the margins? Some time ago we had a similar problem because
    of margins of inkjet printers.
    Hope this can help you.

I received a demo from Kevin Morris, but I haven't been able to reproduce
the problem on our printers, an HP LJ 5, Lexmark Optra se 3455, and NEC
SuperScript 1800. Could I send you the demo so that you can verify that this
causes a problem on your printers?

We have had some fixes over the years to address special cases related to
paper sizes not being correct when printing. I have tested with RB 7.02 and
it works fine. Please try RB 7.02 if you haven't already.

    Tips:

Do our demos print correctly, such as the main reports demo # 51 - 52 which
    have landscape subreports.

As always, use the latest printer driver available from the manufacturer.

Test with other apps to reproduce the problem, such as MS Word, Excel, even
though they (most likely) use different Win API calls to print to the
    printer.

Thanks for the responses. I did end up changing the margins (15mm left and
right). I also had to go through the report and reduce all the font sizes to
fit into the restricted width. This gave me correct results on the Deskjet
610C. I've yet to try on the clients Officejet. It's interesting that one
truncates to the left and the other to the right.
