cycling through data on subreport expansion?

edited October 2002 in Subreports
I've noticed that when you expand a subreport, it appears as though it
cycles through the pipeline data twice. Once before the expansion is
visible, and once after. (probably because of the actual expansion, and
then once for the regenerate). Does this actually poll the database again,
or just simply cycle through the pipeline data in memory?

And is there any way to stop this from cycling through all of the data
twice? When dealing with large numbers of records, this causes a noticable
lag.

Thanks.

When you choose to expand or collapse a subreport, the entire report needs
to be regenerated from the current page until the last page. RB uses
bookmarks on the dataset to move between records. The report does traverse
forwards and backwards over page breaks, this may be the behavior that you
are experiencing when the report moves back to begin regeneration of the
    current page.
