Section sub-reports
If I have a set of section sub-reports in a sub report, they don't honor
the footer of the main report. Thus they will over-run the footer area
where the page number is. To workaround this I've added a footer to the
section sub-reports and put nothing in them.
This is the first time in ages I've done a really complicated report (12
subreports nested up to 4 deep so far, and more to come), and I wonder if
there is a list of known issues that I can have to save me falling over
things like this.

Section style subreports are meant to act as separate reports in your main
report, generally used to combine multiple reports together as one. Section
subreports are not meant to be embedded inside a Child subreport. This
tends to cause problems with the report engine and gives you a unexpected
output.
