subreport problem

edited July 2003 in Subreports
if this is crossposted, forgive me but i don't see my posting in the general
group, anyway, it is more appropriate to post the question here

hi,
i'm constructing a fairly complicated report
and i having problems getting subreports to do what i want them to do

so i have a master report, without data pipeline (appropriate
nodatabehaviour)
in that i'm having a first sub report
in that sub report i have other sub reports, let me draw it:

main
- sub report
* subsub report A
&subsubsubreport
&subsubsubreport
&subsubsubreport
* subsub report X :: i want this sub report to start on a
fresh page
- sub report
etc...

so i want * subsub report X to start on a fresh page
so i've set the title to newpage, problem is that the detail is printed on
the * subsub report A cause i do not have a shiftrelative to that report,
title is printed on a new page
if i set the shiftrelative of the *subsub report X tot *subsub report A then
the detail of *subsub report X is printed after the *subsub report A and the
title is printed on a fresh page
so i do not really care for the title, i just want to get the *subsub report
X printed on a fresh page
how do i do this?
thx!
marc

Try creating a group in the subreport and set it to start on a new page.
That way you don't have to use the title band of the subreport.

    Jim,
i solved it that way, but it feels more natural had it been implemented on
    the subreport
anyway RB still keeps amazing me, i'm constructing a report with tons of
subreports all hooked up to other data and it simply works...

for now i have just one more problem but i'll post it into the general group
