Report with pbChild and pbSection sub report on

edited October 2005 in Subreports
Hello

I have a report which has the following layout

MAIN REPORT
Title Band

Chart

If there are more than 4 rows in meter stats sub report I want
to move the whole sub report onto the next page and make my chart bigger

Portrait sub report (Section Style)

I have the problem where for some reason my meter stats sub report does not
display, and yet if I get rid of my section report it does?

I am not sure if I can safely change the meter stats report to the fixed
type or not?

cheers

Paul

    Hi Paul,

We have not seen this behavior before. How are you moving the Meter Stats
subreport to the next page if there are more than 4 rows of data? Try
setting your portrait subreport to ShiftRelativeTo your Meter Stats
subreport and see if that makes a difference.

    Hi Nico

I have not even got that far yet!

At the moment when I have these components on my report at the same time
when I preview the report I cant even see the meter stats sub report, until
I remove the other sub report

    Cheers

    Hi Paul,

Placing a Child subreport and a Section subreport in the same band tends to
confuse the report engine. Try placing two Section style subreports inside
your detail band, the first one containing the chart and child subreport and
the second being your portrait subreport. This should keep the separation
    simple.

    ok Nico

I will try this but what do I use as the pipeline for the first sub report?

I dont really need a pipeline for the first sub report as it will contain
another sub report and the chart

    Cheers

If I use a section subreport for the first report, I cant see anything when
I preview the report in the designer?
