The whole story caused too much trouble, so I simply placed the DB
components on the same form as the RB components. This did the trick.

I can give you some more information:
- the datamodule is instantiated right on application startup, so this
should not cause any trouble
- the application is not multi-threaded
About the library path issue: please tell me … -
A TSQLConnection is existing in a datamodule, but i cannot reference it.
During designtime the reference is set, but it vanishes in runtime, so I
cannot choose it in the "Data Settings" dialog. What could be the reason for
that?

Thanks - it took me a while to find the magic SQL, but knowing that it was
the outer joins that mattered (and Distinct), I removed that part and
added another linked query to get the info, and all seems to be working
well. Much eas… -
Thanks - not quite as easy as I was hoping, but at least there is a
solution! I may try to remove the DISTINCT etc, but I'm not sure I can - I
was trying to re-create a query known to work in ColdFusion.

I'm in trouble with run-time reports. The application that we create runs
against MSSQL, Oracle or Cach? databases. When the user opens the Report
Designer, the TppDesigner.DataSettings.DataBaseType points to Paradox,

Got things working satisfactorily for now.... queries, sorting etc. Dont
think we will give end users the ability to edit the SQL however, and we
will advise them not to set groups using the SQL as we got logical errorsNico
Fixed the problem with which tables we can see... we can now see both types.
Now having trouble with Query Wizard which reports errors on all but the
most simple of queries. I guess we have to learn what is possible.

Found out why we cant see tables.... or to be more exact, which tables we
cant see. Apparently we cannot see available tables which are themselves
within an Advantage Data Dictionary, only 'free tables'.

Yes I understand this, but the fact remains that we dont see ADSSession
under the Datasettings. My…We did add daAds to the uses clause with no response. We have been
following the instructions in the 'Using Advantage Database Server' very
exactly. It does not say that it is necessary to install the design time
package in order to…After some arbitrary work on recompiling components of the package, we seem
to have compiled rbAds77.dpk without error, however when we attempt to
follow the further instructions to configure the Designer.Datasettings we
cannot see o…that fixed it.

Compiling errors. It can not find the units. I saw for example that
your package is looking for files finishing with 7. I changed to 6
and it worked.

[Erro…I can not install this. I am working with Delphi 6 and RB 7.04.
