Designer (in Delphi IDE or run time project) fails and loses objects
I have a report template file that I have moved from D7 through D10.x through D11.
Currently working with D11 Enterprise, RB 21.02
I cannot edit an existing template. I can load it and view it, but as soon as I move or change (where change means change a dbtext font, color or size, or move any object) the main menu disappears, objects disappear, and basically the entire thing becomes unusable.
I'm wondering if there's some persisted settings (eg position, scale, location etc) about the designer that are corrupt. How do I force the designer to completely ignore any previous session's settings?
This has to run from a specific workstation (because the templates have very specify printer settings embedded - only one workstation has these stupidly expensive colour label printers) so I can't even test on a different device...
Thx

It's likely that the template you are attempting to load has become corrupt in some way. Try opening it and re-saving as ASCII text, then opening in Notepad to see if there are any outlier values.
If you would like to send a copy of the ASCII template here, we can take a look as well. Send any files in .zip format to support@digital-metaphors.com.

I'm a bit confused about how to save as ASCII text - do you mean override the "save as" extension with .txt (all I see is "save as *.rtm")?

(sigh)
Sent the zip to you - many thanks.

We did not receive your email. Please resend the template to support@digital-metaphors.com in .zip format.

Thanks for providing the example.
The issue is with RichText containing Font color white. The RB Designer is not rendering correctly for this specific case. I researched and created a patch for RB 21.03. (Sent to your email)
The template is valid - no corruption.

Can I just use the setup or do I need to also apply the patches after the setup?
RB 21.04 includes patches created for RB 21.03.
Patches created for RB 21.04 will be included in the next release.

Is there release plan for the next release? I have some patches, but also encountered problems that other users reported (https://www.digital-metaphors.com/forums/discussion/21653/issues-with-21-04) that seems unresolved. I can't revert to 21.03, because the GMail patches are applied to 21.04
