Column heights in subreports
Hi,
I have a report containing one sub report and the sub report is broken into
5 columns, each containing only one small field value. However the columns
are all expanding to the total height of the page, despite the subreport's
bands all being set static. It seems the columns are expanding to the height
of the parent report's page size.
I've tried setting the page size of the subreport to A4 width but a custom
(very small) height but it seems to be ignored in favour of the parent
report's page height.
How can I keep the height of the column small?
Does that make sense at all?
Thanks,
Steve Branley

By definition a child style subreport will stretch to the size needed for
all data to fit. Even though the detail band is of static height, you are
printed multiple detail bands so the report will stretch.
As an alternative, you can try using fixed style subreports. These need to
be sized vertically in the main report to the amount of space you would like
them to take. Right click over the subreport object in the main report to
change the style.
