XLSData Export cell formatting

edited April 2013 in General
Is there a setting somewhere to have it stop formatting cells on the
export. It doesn't look right and I have to highlight it and return the
formatting to "normal" to correct this. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Thanks.

    Chris,

Please post using your full name :)

What version of ReportBuidler are using? (Check Designer Help | About)

Please provide details about the issue you are encountering. 'Doesn't look
    right' is not specific. :)

XLS exports the data value, data type, and display format as separate cell
attributes. This is done to provide the highest quality export.

I just want it to stop exporting "display format" portion. The lines to
the left, right, up, down of cell.

    Can this be turned off?

    Thanks

Please re-read my prior response. I made a request. I asked specific
    questions. :)

    Using RB14.08 on Delphi 7.

Any more information on this question?

I would like to tell Reportbuilder to stop export information about the
border of the cells and/or formatting of the cells.

    I am using RB14.08 on Delphi 7.

    Thanks.

    Chris,

Please post using your full name, rather than Chris M.

Please provide details about the issue you are encountering. 'Doesn't look
right' is not specific. If you would like to create a simple example that I
can build and run here in the debugger, I can take a look at it. Please use
only standard Delphi components and RB. Use the DBDemos data or dump some
data to TClientDataSets. Email to support@

I see many posts with people not posting their full name. Why is it I
am being singled out for mine? None of the other posts from those
people are hindered due to them not using a full name.

I have outlined the issue and provided more detail. I wish the export
to not contain formatting information related to the cell borders. Is
there a way to do this? RB14.08 with Delphi 7

    Thank you

    Chris,

Thanks for the feedback. The newsgroups requirements are enumerated on our
web site (link below). Definitely not trying to single you out, and we need
to do a better job of requesting developers post using their full name. If
you look at old posts by me, you will see me doing it over and over. As an
example, check out the post by 'edbored' on 4/3/2013, I made the same
request and his follow up posts use his full name.

    http://digital-metaphors.com/support/newsgroups.html

We are a small team and this is a small community (as is the Delphi
community in general), it's important to us that community members use their
full name. If you prefer not to use your full name here, please use the
support@ email as an alternative and use your full name in the email.

The same engineers that design and build the product are providing tech
support. We use tech support and customer feedback to improve the product. I
would like an example so that I can see exactly what the issue is - I am not
clear on that at all. Once I see the example, I can determine whether there
is solution and if not a solution, whether the product can be improved going
forward. You would be surprised how many times a developer describes an
issue and turns our we were thinking of two different things.

Our goal is to build the best product and provide the best tech support. The
way we run our newsgroups and tech support is designed to facilitate that.
