Ultimate End User Reporting Tool

Okay, I need to create an End User Reporting Tool for my users and I figured
who best to ask than this group.

I will be using Delphi 7 and RB 7.

What I'm curious about is who believes that they have created the ultimate
end user reporting tool, and can share what components they are using and
what makes it so fantastic.

I learn best from example and so I'm looking for ideas of what will make the
best tool for me to create.

Examples are, Query Builder... are you using RB's, or other.

I really like the looks of William Wu's Grid Pack so I'm considering giving
my users that capability, along with charting probably with TeeChart..

If I use Grid Pack, at this point I'll be using Waler's pdf stuff, which I
have used in Delphi 5 a long time ago and it worked well.

But am I missing something that would really make it great??

I'm thinking of saving report files to .rtm's just for convenience sake, but
maybe that's a mistake.. I would like opinions.

My users will either be local on my network, or via VPN which means
essentially local to my network, but I am going to be upgrading to RB
Server, so eventually over the Internet will be available to my users.

I'm looking at creating quite a few reports. One thing I noticed is that
Delphi 7 Pro which is what I'll be using doesn't include direct SQL Server
2000 access. Is this a problem??? Not sure I can afford the extra money for
Enterprise version..

Any thoughts would be great.

    WIlliam Yu is the developer of Grid Pack, not WIlliam Wu.

    Man oh man, I really figured some people would chime in here and tell us all
    the great things they've done with RB End User, but alas no replies.

    I thought maybe a chance to toot your own horn on what you've done, but
    maybe everyone is just too busy, or feel it's too proprietary.

    We'll just wait and see.
