Subtotal issue when spanning multiple pages

edited November 2004 in End User
DM,

We have an issue with a particular report. Below is what our consultant says
is going on. Unfortunately, I am cannot send you an example because the
report is embedded in our application. I am having the consultant attempt to
recreate the issue using your demo application. I was hoping, based on what
the consultant wrote, you would be able to decipher what the issue is and
give us some guidance on how to resolve it.

" fyi - Group 0 Band is Job, Group 1 Band is Revenue Item, and Cost Item is
in the Detail Band.

Job 703469 works fine for all 3 reports. Numbers match between all 3, and
are the expected results.
Job 402376 has different results for all 3 reports. Report B (Small Fonts)
is the only one showing the correct results. This is the scenario where 1
Revenue Item (90000010) has all its details (Cost Item) on 1 page, and then
the sub-totals on the next page which are incorrect. With the small fonts,
everything fits on 1 page and then the totals are correct.
Job 703432 has different results for Report C (Groups). Somewhat similar
scenario as Job 402376. The details for the 2nd to last revenue item are on
one page, and the group footer totals are on top of the next page. Totals
are incorrect.

I've attached a spreadsheet showing results for the Totals on the last page
for these 3 jobs and any differences.

This report 'Job Report' has been working fine for several months with
correct and validated numbers(with Keep Groups Together checked). UNTIL we
came up with a Job that had a Revenue Item that had enough Cost Items
(detail band) to fill 1 page."

Thank you,

For future reference, it is against newsgroup guidelines to post
attachements. Please send attachments to support@digital-metaphors.com in
    zip format.

    1. Check out the articles in the Calculations thread of the Tech Tips
newsgroup. Make sure that you are using TppVariable components to perform
    all calculations.

    2. If you are not using RB 7.04, download a trial version and perform the
    same test.

If you still have an issue, create a simple example project that
demonstrates the behavior. Use standard Delphi components, ReportBuilder and
the DBDemos data (or send us an MS Access database or paradox tables). Email
in zip format to support@digital-metaphors.com and we can check it out here.
